Spartans End Irish Hockey Season

Coming off a dramatic double overtime win Friday, the tired Irish gave it everything they had but fell one game short in their attempt to reach the "Frozen Four" falling Saturday night to heated rival Michigan St. by a score of 2-1.

The Spartans took the early 2 zip lead on 2 power play goals, but Notre Dame's Evan Rankin made a game of it when he cut the margin in half with just five minutes left. But a furious last minute rush by the Irish came up short and Jeff Jackson's skaters had to be content with the CCHA Championship and a school record 32-7-3 season.
